BUILDING PERMIT INFORMATION
The
following are just some of the things you will need to know when planning
your next building project.
Residential and Commercial
Property:
Medium to Major Projects:
Please allow 30 days from submittal of application for processing and issuance
of a permit and no permit work may begin until a permit is
obtained.
REQUIREMENTS
BEFORE PERMIT ISSUANCE FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION AND ADDITIONS:
1.
Two (2)
Sets of building plans with the following:
a.
Architectural
with all floor plans, elevation, section,
and through drawings.
b.
Structural
drawings for project with all pertinent information
such as wind and snow load, and fire ratting of construction
and specs.
c.
Mechanical
drawings for all systems to be installed with
specs for all equipment.
d.
Electrical
drawings for structure detailing all material and
equipment and specs.
e.
Plumbing
drawings size and type of piping.
REQUIRED INSPECTIONS AFTER PERMIT IS
ISSUED: – 24 Hour notice required

Inspectors Final Inspection and Certificate of
Occupancy
Issuance.
A
final inspection is Necessary.
Failure to do so may result in the property owner
having to apply for a new permit to receive an occupancy permit.
Do
I really need this Occupancy Permit? Yes.
In fact your insurance carrier may require that you show proof of an
occupancy permit.
WHERE
APPLICABLE, APPROVAL FROM THE FOLLOWING AGENCIES MAY BE REQUIRED BEFORE A PERMIT

Engineer or other qualified professional are required.
